Project Description

What are the most effective learning strategies & which are best for me? I've explored tactics for remembering more. I've synthesized information from books covering Cognitive Psychology: the study of how people think and Neuroscience: the scientific study of the brain & nervous system into learning components.

Strategies are the highest impact activities for effective learning. Routines are the structures for how to work deeply. The tools help implement the strategies for encoding information into the brain. Each piece can improve your learning or productivity, but combining them, along with a compelling vision will optimize your learning! πŸš€

What's the most effective way for me to learn __________? πŸ€”

A simple question...or so I thought. From learning to ride a bike, to walk, talk or even from decades of schooling - I never questioned how or why I was able to learn something new. Why was I able to remember some things for years & forget others from only moments or days earlier. πŸ”‘ πŸ‘€ And why the interest now?

I've been hopelessly failing to learn web development - for years. πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

I applied what had worked in school. I read blogs, created pages of notes & with highlighters turned those notes into psychedelic pieces of art. I've watched countless tutorials, and have tried to memorize concepts. I even went back to school.🀞 But learning how to learn goes deeper than getting my foot in the door and ending my groundhog's day quest through tutorial purgatory. πŸ§—β€β™‚οΈ πŸŒ„

After I transition careers, to grow, I will have to continue learning. πŸ“š That's true for learning any skill, language, or topic. While the words of Voltaire, β€œThe more I read, the more I acquire, the more certain I am that I know nothing.” ring true, especially in tech, as the ocean grows the closer you get. I'd still rather be out sailing than writing my future in the sand. πŸŒ…
Here you’ll find a collection of information synthesized from others - and thanks to their work, standing on the shoulders of giants, πŸ™Œ we all can understand a little better how we learn, why we learn, and how to best apply it to our own lives, as autodidacts, to learn effectively & remember more. 🦾🧠
